On Saturday, April 19th, in Dumbo Brooklyn, The Reset Talk Show hosted their 4th Annual Awards Ceremony.

Jr Giddings, the founder of The Reset Talk Show, created a remarkable platform to discuss hard-hitting topics and challenges that are faced in our communities across New York City. “This platform gives a voice to those in the community. It allows us to have an open and honest conversation”, stated Mayor Eric Adams.

Hosts, Deandre Desir and Camille McDonald spent the evening celebrating the visionaries and game-changers while highlighting their achievements and the impact that they have had in their respective fields.

The honorees included Mayor Eric Adams, Deputy Mayor Camille Varlack, Donnaiella Craig, Pia J. Hargrove, Selwyn Collins, Pastor Louis Straker, Dr. Hank Hill, Melmia Cordis, Camille McDonald, Dr. Shelley Giddings, Patricia Cummings-Riley, Alecia Reid, Rachel T. Irizarry, Imani Richardson, and Aliyah Abrams.

Each honoree gave a heartwarming speech that accentuated the work that they do and the importance it has on our society. From policymakers to medical professionals, we are all thankful for the contributions that each individual has made and will continue to make in the future.

While speaking with Deputy Mayor Camille Varlack we learned how important representation is. “I’m feeling great. I do want to say I’m always here to shout out African American women but I also want to bring in my Caribbean women as well. I was born in Trinidad and Tobago and I honor my legacy and my heritage. It was a great room to be in tonight”.

Every year, The Reset Talk Show’s Annual Awards Ceremony gets bigger and better and we look forward to sharing the stories of those making a difference.
