Singer & Songwriter LAYA Presents "Um Hello" Block Party In NYC

The Staten Island-born artist, LAYA, is a singer, songwriter, producer, creative director, and visual artist constantly shifting forms and acquiring skills. Powered by a need for newness, her vibrant yet vulnerable take on R&B and Pop music offers a unique perspective on life and love. “Everything that I’ve gotten to this point I’ve worked for and made it happen”.

Following the release of her critically-acclaimed EP, Um, Hello earlier this year, LAYA celebrated her Warner Records debut project with a block party on July 11th at New York City’s hot spot Zazzy’s Pizza (owned by renowned hospitality legends Richie Romero & Jon Gable). LAYA performed live for a crowd of over 300 guests at the high-traffic corner of 11th Street and 7th Avenue South. Free pizza and champagne for fans and media kept the party going throughout the late afternoon. “Brag” ft. Fivio Foreign, “Bitter”, “Crazy Down”, and fan-favorite “Sailor Moon” created a stop-and-watch moment on the busy intersection.

Since her inception, LAYA has showcased her ability to create “moments” in addition to melding ethereal soundscapes with nostalgia-soaked musicality. She has a knack for crafting hooks that feel good, garnering critical acclaim for her past efforts.

LAYA’s Um, Hello EP has amassed over 10 million global streams, 1.7 million YouTube channel views and, 3 million views across fan-generated videos on TikTok for “Crazy Down”. This visual follows the release of her latest music video for “On Sight”.

LAYA’s next performance will be this month at the “Femme It Forward” concert featuring Teyana Taylor and Baby Tate in Brooklyn New York. LAYA will also be hitting the road this summer joining Alex Isley on her headlining Marigold Tour.
