Short N Sweet Ent

Earlier this year Nigerian singer and songwriter Oluwatobioba Daniel Antidugbe, better known by his stage name, Kizz Daniel took to social media and announced his Afro Classic USA Tour. With the rise of his hit single “Buga” (Lo Lo Lo) featuring Tekno, Kizz Daniel was ready to hit the stage and his fans were more than ready to see him perform.

The tour was supposed to begin on July 1st with the first stop being in New York City but due to unforeseen circumstances and logistical challenges, Daniel and his team had to start on July 7th in Maryland. As excited, as he was to hit the stage, Daniel was unable to make it on time for the DMV show and fans became outraged during the little time that he was left with to perform. After receiving numerous backlash, Daniel issued an apology on social media and tried to explain what happened.

“DMV thank you for showing up last night and sincere apologies for all that happened. For some reason, my passport was withheld at the US Consulate in Nigeria until the day of the show and previously booked flights had to be canceled. Same reason I rescheduled the New York show”. –Kizz Daniel

After what his team described as a nightmare, New York was up next and Daniel was ready to redeem himself. During a recent interview with Short N Sweet Ent, Daniel expressed that he tried to do everything that was in his power to make the DMV show and will make it up to them somehow.

On July 8th Kizz Daniel was ready to perform in New York City at the Palladium in Times Square and if you missed the show, you missed an incredible performance. In collaboration with LastCard Management, Empire, and Live Nation, the Lagos Boys, networking and party entertainment service, produced an evening that complemented the African culture on a large scale.

The crowd erupted as soon as the lights came on and the music started to bump. Host Young Prince and DJ FreshyK came with all the energy and outdid themselves. If you were there to witness them on stage, you too understand what I mean when you couldn’t tell who from who. Everyone moved as a unit and did their parts to get the crowd hype. After speaking with DJ FreshyK he explained, that just pressing play is not what people want; to be an entertainer you have to create an experience for the people”. While the night started to flow, female Nigerian singer, Fadi blessed the fans with her angelic voice and African artist Malkalm serenaded the fans with 90s RnB hits.

When Kizz Daniel’s DJ, DJ Expression, came to the stage we all knew it was time for the main attraction. The moment Daniel touched the mic, the fans went crazy for him and as they recited word for word it became evident how his music impacted their lives. While performing some of his hits, Oshey, Fvck You, Laye, Sofa, Madu, and Buga Daniel was able to take us on a personal journey highlighting how much music has changed his life. During the end of his set, Daniel was gifted on stage with a plaque for reaching 300 Million Streams on Audiomack. This is a major milestone for Kizz Daniel and his performance in New York was a huge Win.

After Kizz Daniel left the stage he stayed until the last minute that the venue would allow, for him to have an intimate Meet & Greet with his fans that were managed by Bimbola Bamgbose. They got a chance to connect with him in a special way and take pictures to cherish this extraordinary moment.

At the end of the evening, Kizz Daniel spoke with Short N Sweet and described the night as feeling happy and blessed. “This was amazing. I had fun on that stage. I swear New York is the best.” –Kizz Daniel
