“If you trust my comedy - you can trust my words”, Dr. Pretty Vee.
With there being thousands of books on the bookshelves right now there is one specific body of work that is making an impact on our culture. Comedian, actress, and philanthropist Dr. Pretty Vee has written her first book “The Pretty Victory: 100-Day Guide to Recenter Yourself and Find Your Purpose”. This daily devotional comprises Dr. Pretty Vee’s personal stories and affirmations. It encourages people to use this as a guided journal to help them define who they are and go after their dreams.
You may have been introduced to Dr. Pretty Vee from her time as a social media megastar or her time as one of the funniest comedians on Wild N’ Out but either way, she has proven that she is ready to shift the narrative on health & wellness and make it a topic that can be opening discussed without any judgments. During her book tour, Dr. Pretty Vee stopped at Atlanta, Los Angeles, Miami, and New York to have conversations about the importance of her book and why it is necessary to take the first step toward change in your life.
On February 19, 2025, in Dumbo Brooklyn at the POWERHOUSE Arena bookstore, Dr. Pretty Vee and The Breakfast Club’s own Charlamagne tha God had a small intimate discussion and signing with her day one supporters. In attendance were well-known industry celebrities including Kapri Fernandez, Azaryah Milan, Scar Lip, DJ Webstar, Ron Browz, Jim Jones, and most importantly her mother Pastor G.

Charlamagne tha God started the conversation by sharing with everyone how proud of her he is of the book that she has done. As we know their friendship and bond do not go unnoticed and it was great to see how much positive energy he poured into her.
As the conversation developed, Dr. Pretty Vee took a moment to describe how she was feeling, “Thank y’all so much for coming out and supporting me. I really appreciate it. I feel free, aware, present, and victorious”.
“In this moment, this is my purpose. For these people to come out and hear me share my story and buy my book, that is so important to me. If I’m able to touch one soul – I have done the mission”.
Dr. Pretty Vee shared with us that this process of writing her book was hard but that she had to be still. She was inspired by her mom and her faith to share the lessons that she has learned, and how that has made her who she is now.
Toward the end of the evening, Dr. Pretty Vee answered questions from her supporters, gave advice to anyone that is struggling, and made everyone feel like it is okay to step out and not be afraid of what is next to come in our lives.
Publicist and friend Dr. Rasae Barnes took to the mic and made sure that she publicly showed her love and support for Dr. Pretty Vee. Barnes stated, “I wasn’t going to say anything because when we come to these events I like to sit back and watch you work but I’m just so proud of you and I want to tell you this in front of the masses. I know the work that you put in and I know what it took to get here”.

At the end of the night, I walked out the door feeling like I am one step closer to finding my purpose. I left with a sense of deep confidence, a smile, and my head held high. I know how important it is to protect my peace at all times and it will be my mission to continue to work on myself.
